Sharing God’s goodness to transform our world

MATT AND SUMMER BROWN

After Matt’s 18 year battle with drugs & alcohol nearly destroyed their marriage, Matt went off to rehab in May 2014 & Summer went deeper in her own personal relationship with God, and began seeking His plan and direction for her life. Summer made the decision to forgive Matt for all of the lies & deception that his addiction had caused. Her decision to forgive Matt, who definitely didn’t deserve it, is such a mirror image of God’s ultimate & perfect forgiveness in all of our lives.
In August 2014, Matt completed treatment & felt led to switch careers – from physical therapist to a career in addiction treatment. He & Summer have embarked on a journey that has been scary and exciting, hard and easy, tough and fun… all at the same time… And they wouldn’t take a second of it back. Their lives are a picture of what happens when two individuals (who are now as one) encounter God’s perfect love & keep Him in the center of their relationship. Matt & Summer Brown answered the call to lead a life giving church in Louisa, KY in August 2016.
If Matt & Summer only know one thing – it’s that there is no such thing as too far gone – that addiction, relationship problems, gossip, financial burdens, depression, career changes, fears, uncertainties – are mere pebbles to cross over when a person, a couple, a community embraces the reality that God is a loving Father that has good plans for our lives. Matt & Summer can’t wait to see what God is going to continue to do in Louisa, KY & beyond!!!
Matt & Summer Brown live & work in Louisa, Kentucky.

Matt currently serves as the Senior VP of Administration for Addiction Recovery Care. Matt is also co-founder and board chair of RISEabove – a Louisa, KY based nonprofit focused on community improvements and service work. Also, in the spring of 2017, Matt was appointed as a City Councilman for Louisa. And did we mention that Matt really loves t-shirts? Summer is a third grade teacher and National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Literacy. She is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Organizational Development from the University of Louisville. She also really likes coffee.
