Sharing God’s goodness to transform our world

DEANNA MUNCY

Deanna Muncy is from Pilgrim, Kentucky and currently lives in Louisa, Kentucky. She grew up in and around church her whole life because both her grandpa’s were preachers. Deanna grew up going to church with her mom every Sunday, dusting church pews at her Poppal Hale’s church and looking at Bible maps with her Poppal Muncy. In 2006 Deanna became a Christian, but it wasn’t until 2011 that Deanna developed a true relationship with God.
In December of 2010, Deanna had a 17lb tumor removed and was diagnosed with Stage 1 ovarian cancer. She and her entire family were devastated. Deanna struggled those first few months with understanding why. She was a Christian, she was checking all the boxes, and she was trying to do everything right. Why did this happen to her? As she began six months of chemotherapy, the questions soon turned into trust, faith, and a very intimate relationship with God. She often says, “When you have to pray for something as simple as raising your head off the pillow without pain, you develop a deep relationship with God.”
Deanna knows that God has blessed her to walk out HOPE and the healing power of God. That hope encouraged her to seek God and ask Him what else she could do with her life. God led her to Addiction Recovery Care, where she works as the Chief Financial Officer.
During this time God also healed Deanna’s cousin and dearest childhood friend, Pastor Matt Brown. Deanna considers it an honor to help and serve with Matt and theTable.
